Until recently I thought hare and rabbit were synonyms. Silly me. Do we have hares in North America?

You betcha! Being a Minnesotan, I have to throw in an occasional “you betcha.” It’s a citizenship requirement. We have several species of jackrabbits and the snowshoe hare.

A snowshoe hare! Not here, methinks.

They live in the northern half of Minnesota. I used to watch jackrabbits run like the wind (up to 40 mph)—now I rarely see a jackrabbit.
